My daughter gave birth here on 11/4/17 and let me tell you we had a great experience from beginning to end... Our Nurse Kris was AMAZING we could not ask for a better nurse, she made us feel very comfortable, answered any and all of our questions and addressed our concerns. To top it off she was very comical making us laugh the whole time. Definitely recommend this hospital to everyone
From an appendicitis with my 5 year old, to a bladder infection with my 2 year old right before hurricane Irma, to me giving birth to our 5th child... I have had nothing but the absolute best experience with this hospital. Big emergencies and small they have always treated us respectfully and kindly, ensuring we get the best care of any of the past hospitals I've dealt with. I live closer to the Brandon hospital but absolutely know the extra 10 minutes is well worth it, no matter what's going on. Staff=amazing /facilities=clean, updated, and cared for /wait time=minimal /doctors=patient and thorough
I wish I could give 0 stars.
The doctor came in and never even stated his name, nor did he say hi or acknowledge her. He never even spoke to her. He then asked if we had her shoes so he could see her walk (which we didn't bring in with us considering she wasn't walking from an injury). Then made a smart comment along the lines of "well make sure you wash her feet when you get home". He never even touched her foot. Or even compared it to the other one. He kept glancing oddly at us wondering why she was crying when we would attempt to stand her on her hurt ankle. Since the X-ray didn't show a break or fracture he had absolutely no suggestion as to why she wouldn't walk or even what we should do. I guess I'll have to take her to her pediatrician who is actually trained on how to treat a pediatric patient. Hopefully the adults are treated better at this place
I took my daughter in this evening after she hurt her ankle (1 year old). She's an extremely active kid and wouldn't put any weight on that leg.
Just want to say THANK YOU to the entire ER staff. Quick check-in, friendly, professional service. The doctors, nurses and techs were great. Was my second time to St. Joseph and both times best treatment and experience I've had. Word of caution, if it gets any better may check in just for the special feeling you get from the staff. CARE that's what they demonstrated, thank you.
I also wish I could give this place 0 stars. This place is a nightmare. I came in dying from appendicitis and in agonizing pain. I was crying and they told me to be quite. That they had actual sick patients. The staff were very rude. They said I probably just had food poisoning and refused to treat me and was actually going to have security remove me for being disruptive. My husband did not accept that and drove me straight to Manatee Hospital. Where they treated me very nice and rushed me in to emergency surgery immediately. Manatee told me I was lucky to be alive.
